The South Australian Government is a committed supporter of science and innovation, and we recognise the fundamental and transformational role these play in the advancement of our economy and society.

The Science & Innovation Directorate is responsible for promoting the importance of innovation, science & technology to South Australia’s economic, environmental and social future. We promote and support science & innovation developments within government, academia, industry, and community sectors. We also ensure that leading strategic policy is developed in these sectors for economical and social benefit to the State. We achieve this through involvement in activities including STI10 and Constellation SA.

South Australian innovators pack the 2008 Innovation Conference

The 2008 Innovation Conference, held on Friday 7 November, was well attended by representatives from research, industry and Government. Speaker notes are now available at the conference website.


State-of-the-art imaging facility to boost biomedical research

A state-of-the-art Large Animal Research Imaging Facility (LARIF) was opened on 24th November by the Minister for Science & Information Economy, Paul Caica, and will further strengthen South Australia's developments into biomedical research.
